Richmond mourns the loss of a great guitar Maestro
This article appeared in yesterday's Richmond Times Dispatch - it's a tribute to Carlos Pozzi, who taught classical guitar in Richmond public schools for 30 years (he lived a full life despite having to undergo 3 kidney transplants in his lifetime).
He was my first and favorite guitar teacher and a mentor to me in many ways and I will miss him alot. Like many of his students, music has been central in my life ever since I began taking lessons from him.
He inspired so many young people over the years so the mark he left on this world cannot be measured.
The memorial service for Carlos Pozzi was held last Sunday at the Richmond Friends Meeting House and his family, friends, and colleagues all gathered to remember him.
Mr. Pozzi's spirit and legacy will live on through the many students he taught - some who have gone on to become guitar teachers themselves, and others who have applied the wisdom he shared in other ways.
