Interview with David J - Bassist of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets -Coming SOON on WRIR

I spoke today via telephone with David J- bassist of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets.

BAUHAUS has just released a new full studio LP which is said to be their last...
it is titled "Go Away White"
(available on special limited vinyl format also- guess what color it is???)

I found the live clips below on Youtube (from the Gotham Tour DVD.. which is an incredible document of their show in NYC in 1999 at the Hammerstein Ballroom-- the double LP release of this show is also great..) David tells me there's plenty more dvd releases of live footage of the band and his other projects on the way in the future.. (some from as far back as 1978-9 filmed in the early days by the band's lighting technician on one of the earliest VHS cameras ever made)

the new album, Go Away White is on the Bauhaus Music record label.

I'll be playing the interview with David J on a future show of "If Music Could Talk". . stay tuned!

Kehna Hai from Padosan, & the Top 25 All time "MUST SEE" Bollywood Movies

I just heard a very beautiful song, Kehna Hai, sung by Kishore Kumar, and written by R.D. Burman, which is originally from the 1968 Hindi dramatic comedy - Padosan
I looked the film up on youtube... here's the clip from the film where this song is sung-- the scene reminds me of something.. Cyrano de Bergerac maybe .. i dunno

oh, and dont miss Rajesh Koppikar whistling Kehna Hai...

ALSO, Padosan was included in INDIA TIMES' TOP 25 MUST SEE Bollywood Films LIST (I would have ranked them differently, I fully agree with most of these.. just in terms of order.. and the ones i havent seen, well... now I must!)

Awesome site about Hindi Films!! great info, highly entertaining

So i must confess, I never knew there was a name for people like me until I found this incredible website.. Filmi Geek.. Having personally watched (and cried over) scores of hindi films ("filmi") going all the way back to the early 50s (even sadder, i often watch these movies alone..)Now I know there are others out there like me.. sniff, sob, and this website is now becoming something like a sanctuary for me... (fade in: heartwrenching string music with a rush of sitar notes) The problem I have so often when Im in a Hindi movie store, having a bit of a language barrier with Hindi film titles etc, is that I can't really judge a good movie from a bad one by just looking at the DVD covers..(whether Shemaroo, or Eros, or a miriad of other companies re-releasing these films) What's even more frustrating is that the cases themselves often show poor quality screen shots and confusing movie synopses, often with spoilers included (thats the worst.."finally, our hero dies, never to re-unite with his beloved.." ) bottom line, in my opinion, the DVD cases are often useless... and I have yet to find a good Hindi film guide that covers movies in depth.... until now! i'm using this site as a guide to which movies i want to see next!!!
