If Music Could Talk - PODCAST - Nov 9, 2014 - mis-matched genres
Curiosity can mess up the flow of a set...
However, in this case, perhaps there was never much hope of a flow.
This show started off with three really crackly ghanaian 45s that skipped frequently...
(*They've been re-ripped and replaced in the podcast with no skips and fewer pops and cracks - maybe it was the needle or arm weight being unbalanced on the station turntable.. )
But I'll be honest, this set is basically not flowing very well / at all
Here you will find a ton of music that I'm either currently "checking out" for curiosity's sake, or music that I am totally into.. but there's very little soulful blending here..... just ... song a. wow.. song b. hmm... interesting and so on...
Some of the records i played this Sunday came from a junk store record hunt in NoVa on Saturday...
.... Others were chosen during an afternoon of digging through a few stacks of random vinyl on Sunday afternoon.
I'll try to plan the set better ahead of time next week (but I'll probably include more random finds from this weekend). If you like anything you here, please leave a comment here!
I am grateful to WRIR and our community of supporters and volunteers to be able to do this show every week... it's always an interesting journey and I hope y'all enjoy it too... (even if you don't always like everything you hear)
Thanks for Listening!
